The Lakes community currently (July 2010) consists of 502 lots on which are constructed 484 single family homes.  More than 65% of our lots are “lake front” on our 12 lakes which cover an area of more than 59 acres.  Construction may soon start on our new interconnector roadway which will, after completion, allow for the development of our next Phase XV (15) which will consist of just 23 additional lots.

 

The vast majority of our homes are custom built, and reflect a wide variety of styles and design features while carefully maintaining the community feel as governed by our Architectural Control Committee.

 

All of our lakes are freshwater and are interconnected through a system of conduits, weirs and dams with eventual drainage into Collins Creek and eventually the Intracoastal waterway.  Our lakes are stocked with bass, crappie, shell crackers and catfish.  They are also home to swans, ducks, egrets, herons, ospreys, cormorants, loons, coots and many other wild creatures.  Hawks and Eagles are known to fish in our lakes along with our neighbors and their children/grandchildren.

 

Our iconic gazebo, waterfall, pond and landscaped main entrance, along with our winding peaceful half mile entrance roadway set the tone for the entire community.
